Three Wallace Elementary students sent home after possible Ebola-virus exposure

Three Wallace Elementary students were sent home due to possible exposure to Ebola

Richardson ISD this afternoon notified parents that three students from Wallace Elementary school in Lake Highlands might have come in contact with the Dallas Ebola-virus patient.

“They asked us to remove the students from class and assess them for symptoms,” explains superintendent Kay Waggoner in a recorded message. “Health authorities recommend that we exclude the students from school so that they can be monitored,” she continues.

None of the students were showing symptoms, says RISD spokesman Tim Clark.

The students will be kept from school, probably for a period of 21 days, same as the students pulled yesterday from DISD schools — yesterday we reported on several schools in the area that sent students home after learning they potentially had been exposed to the deadly virus.

The Ebola patient remains at Presbyterian Hospital on Walnut Hill at Greenville.
