The Wildcats are off this week, but next week we face Berkner in our first district matchup. Lake Highlands fans are assigned to the visitors’ side this year, with our stadium-partner Rams enjoying the press box side.

The September 26 game will be both a Tailgate and a Blackout game, so there’ll be lots going on.

Tailgate festivities will begin at 6 p.m. in front of LHHS with a variety of student groups performing, including Cheerleaders, Wranglers, Highlandettes, Drumline, Marching Band, Color Guard and Folklorico. Boxed dinners will be sold by the LHHS Student Council.

Cheerleaders are asking attendees to wear black to “Blackout Berkner” in support of the team, and t-shirts, donated by Herb’s Paint & Body, can be purchased for $12 each by contacting cheer mom Deena Peterson at kevpeterson@sbcglobal.net. The squad will contribute $1000 of proceeds to the Jack Stewart Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of the LHHS graduate and Baylor music student killed in a vehicle crash.
