Lake Highlands’ Knights of Columbus #799 will host an all-day blood drive August 23rd honoring Dallas firefighter Jeffrey Patterson. Patterson was gravely injured May 3rd battling a fire in a southeast Dallas home, and he remains in Parkland’s trauma burn unit with serious burns over 30 percent of his body.

Jeffrey and his wife, Tina Hernandez, are East Dallas residents with children aged 5 and 2. He has already endured several painful skin graft surgeries and faces many more in coming months.

The blood drive will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at KC Hall, 10110 Shoreview. Walkins are welcome, or you may call organizer Tim King at 214-536-0288.

Neighbors have set up a PayPal Family Fund for the Pattersons. Those interested can send contributions to Patterson.hernandez@gmail.com. PayPal will not deduct fees from donations. There is also a Bank of America Family Fund payable to Jeff Patterson or Tina Hernandez (Acct # 488048747086).
