Pamper Lake Highlands needs your donated diapers to help neighbors who can’t afford them.

When Caren Bright’s oldest son took his first steps in the homeless shelter where they lived, Bright says buying diapers was a luxury for her — one diaper a day was common.

So Bright has never forgotten the kind soul who gave her money and diapers when she needed them most.

And now that she’s on her feet and has been living in Lake Highlands for the past 12 years, Bright is trying to help neighbors who have trouble affording diapers by organizing her second Pamper Lake Highlands event Saturday, June 14, from noon-2 p.m. at Lake Highlands North Recreation Center.

Bright says she has already collected more than 12,000 diapers in anticipation of Saturday’s event, but the need is even greater so she’s still soliciting diapers for the event. If you’d like to help, you can drop them off at the following locations through today (Wednesday, June 10): 9408 Summerhill, 7310 Hundley or 9661 Audelia Road #338. Or you can bring them to Saturday’s event, too — they’ll be accepting diapers at the Rec Center.

And if you know someone (or are someone) who needs diapers, visit the Rec Center Saturday to take advantage of Bright’s efforts.
