According to the police report, Marques Elder, 29, was arrested after DPD was called to the scene by restaurant patrons. Apparently suspicious when the man followed the boy into the McDonald’s bathroom, a woman finally went in after them. Upset by the scene, another patron physically held onto the man until police could arrive.

Elder was charged with Indecency with a Child/Contact, a 2nd degree felony, and booked into Lew Sterrett County Jail. He has a previous record for check forgery.

Neighborhood moms are upset. As summer begins and children ask for a generous helping of freedom to roam, the incident serves as a reminder to keep supervision and security ever in mind.

The incident will be discussed tonight/Tuesday on the Nancy Grace Show on HLN at 7 p.m. local time with a brief interview of yours truly. You can view a clip here.
