The various choirs of Lake Highlands High School converge for the annual spring show Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Lake Highlands High School auditorium. LHHS families, alumni and the whole neighborhood is encouraged to attend. It’s free!
Paint the town…
Visit the George W. Bush Presidential Center from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday-Saturday or from noon-5 p.m. Sunday to view the 43rd President’s highly anticipated exhibit, “The Art of Leadership: A President’s Personal Diplomacy.” Featuring more than two-dozen paintings of world leaders, the exhibit provides a personal perspective on Bush’s relationships with the leaders. Exhibit runs through June 3; cost is $16.
The Jam Jam
This Saturday from 3-5 p.m. Kathy Neumuller from JJ&B Jellies will teach students how to make two jars of preserves using seasonal fruit. The class kicks off a series of urban homesteading classes, hosted by WRLM at Lake Highlands’ cool, eco-friendly Gecko Hardware store. Click here to register; cost is $30.
White Rock East Garden Tour & Artisans
Stop and smell some roses during this self-guided tour through neighborhood gardens this Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and appreciate local art along the way. Shop the plant sale from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Alex Sanger Elementary School. Buy tickets in advance online or at any garden on the tour. Cost $12 before May 17; $15 following.
