Justin Bono and family

It’s official – Richardson ISD has two new trustees. Justin Bono is the father of two daughters in Lake Highlands area schools and Kristin Kuhne is the mother of two sons in Pearce area schools. Both are replacing long-serving and retiring school board members and both will be sworn in at a ceremony at the Greenville Avenue administration building later this month.

Bono defeated Rachel Chumney soundly, earning 64% of the vote. Kuhne’s margin was even greater. Despite having two opponents – Judy Yarbrough and Bonnie Abadie – Kuhne earned 70% of 6267 votes cast.

Kuhne, a PhD in public policy and former financial analyst, is in charge of research and evaluation for Educate Texas, a public-private initiative of Communities Foundation of Texas. She is actively involved in PTA, Junior League of Richardson and other community groups.

Bono, a local businessman and entrepreneur, is a leader in Exchange Club of Lake Highlands and other civic organizations. He is perhaps more well-known in the neighborhood for being the father of the irrepressible Sadie, star of the annual Sadie’s Night at the Ballpark hosted by the Wildcat baseball team.

Congratulations to both, and a hearty thank you to all who stood willing to serve the children of RISD.
