Dallas Observer reviewed the family-friendly comedy, “Mariachi Girl,” running now through Sunday at the Dallas Children’s Theater. The Observer writes that, “composer-lyricist Hecter Martinez Morales’ five songs are the highlights of the show, keeping to the mariachi style but moving the story along.”

KERA News reporter Jerome Weeks attended public meetings regarding the ongoing debate of what the city will need to preserve — and if it even should preserve — the White Rock Lake Water Theater. Though a resolution has yet to be agreed upon, Weeks reports that the matter has now been taken up by the city’s public art commission and the Office of Cultural Affairs.

SportsDay gives a little backstory to a rivalry between Lake Highlands High School softball coach Kelly Baker and her sister Jayme Baker, who just so happens to be the softball coach at Berkner High School. The two sisters will face off for the second time in their coaching careers as the two teams play against each other this tonight at 7 p.m. at Lake Highlands High School.
