“Many of our TME children didn’t have clothes to wear to school today,” wrote Candi Champion in an email on Friday, “but, being the determined families that I have grown to love, most of the kids still came to school. I am in awe!”

The Stone Ranch Apartments, formerly known as Las Cascadas, are located at 9432 Skillman, just north of LBJ.

“The Red Cross is helping, but several of our families lost everything,” said Champion. “The types of donations we are looking for now are children’s clothes, size 6 and up, for boys and girls. Also any type of toiletries including toothbrushes, soap, lotions, deodorant, personal hygiene products, and any other things you may want to give.”

Gift cards are also welcome, she says, from stores like Walmart, Target and neighborhood grocers. Items can be delivered to the school’s front office at 9666 Ferris Branch, off Whitehurst between Skillman and Abrams.
