Residents in the Vickery Meadows community will be selling food from different parts of the world, local art, and perform live on Saturday, from 1-4 p.m. for the Trans.lation pop-up market, located at  6327 Ridgecrest. Advocate publisher Christina Hughes Babb writes that “the market is part of a major nationwide effort to improve struggling communities through design. Artist Rick Lowe — famous for his Project Rowe Houses in Houston — which transformed a violence-ridden and neglected neighborhood into an inviting urban village — is a leader of the movement and he, along with Dallas Nasher Sculpture Center and the Vickery Meadow improvement District, has led the Trans.lation project.”
