2. Scavenger hunters score prizes Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the children’s garden at the Dallas Arboretum, courtesy TXU Energy. Participants are given maps at the start—then they are off, searching out treats on an interactive, water-oriented exhibit. “Guests can play their way through the interactive exhibits of the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden,” organizers note. Participants receive giveaways and become automatically entered for a chance to win family memberships at the Dallas Arboretum,”

3. Exercise, beautify the neighborhood and, while supplies last, score gifts from Luke’s Locker at the Luke’s/New Balance Dash for Trash Saturday at 7 a.m. outside the Bath House Cultural Center at White Rock Lake. Facebook members, RSVP here.

4. The Spirit Run benefitting Richardson ISD, is Saturday, Nov. 9 at 8:30 a.m. at Galatyn Park. Runners are “guaranteed to be entertained by high school drum lines, jazz bands and dancers every step of the way,” organizers say. The fans, like the runners, will be motivated by competition; the most-spirited high school will win the “coveted spirit trophy”.  Register online for $30 or donate, here.
