cakes for NorthlakeNorthlake Elementary PTA, teachers and staff are hosting Northlake Community Fun Night this Thursday, October 24th from 5:30 to 7 p.m. They’ve got lots of different activities planned on the school’s playground, and they’re hoping families from the entire neighborhood will show up to enjoy the fun.

There’ll be music, games and food, including hotdogs, popcorn and goodies for sale. There’s no fee to attend, and Northlake pre-K and Kindergarten teachers will be toddler-tending in a play area designated for littlest ones. Best of all, there’ll be an old-fashioned cakewalk, with homemade cakes, pies and cookies given away as prizes. (Don’t remember cakewalks? Traipsing around in circles, carefully stepping on numbers until the music stops, hoping to get lucky? If the number drawn from the bowl matches the spot where you are left standing, the cake is yours!)
