White Rock Artists Studio Tour
Saturday and Sunday, the free self-paced White Rock Artists Studio Tour gives visitors a peek into the lives and artistic processes of more than 45 artists in the East Dallas and Lake Highlands areas. Tour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Here is a Google map of all locations. Included on the tour will be the interior of Lake Highlands’ new and elaborately decorated cat clinic and resort. Pumpkin patching
The Dallas Arboretum uses more than 50,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash each year to construct its nationally acclaimed storybook pumpkin village, on display through Nov. 27. Entry is $10-$15, plus $10 to park onsite. Details here.
St. James pumpkin patch, a Lake Highlands tradition

LEAP 5k
Life Enhancement Association for People is a group of volunteer medical professionals providing services to people in need. A fundraising 5k and 1-mile fun run this Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Norbuck helps send surgeons to children born with cleft-lip. Registration begins at 7 a.m. at the park at the southeast corner of Buckner and Northwest Highway.
