A summary of crimes that happened in and near our neighborhood over the weekend …

A man reportedly was robbed at gunpoint at Harry Moss Park Saturday night. Nixon Guzman, 29, was parked in the lot when the suspects pulled up alongside him. One suspect, a man dressed in all black, got out of the passenger side, pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his property: A backpack containing $200 cash, a watch, a pair of athletic shoes plus his Honduran consulate card and passport. Guzman handed it all over and the suspects fled the scene in a 98 bronze Mercedes.

A black male age 40 who reportedly was riding a bicycle was hit and killed by an unknown driver on Forest Lane near Abrams at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. This report doesn’t include info about the victim or details about the accident, other than that the offending motor vehicle was a cream-colored SUV and that its driver failed to stop and render aid. We will update as we learn more.

A McDonalds worker’s argument with a driver at his window reportedly turned physical, leaving the employee with a “scratch.” At about 7 p.m. Sunday, a driver pulled up to 24-year-old Casey Clemens’ window at the Abrams-Northwest Highway McDonalds and “demanded” that Clemens take and toss his trash, some paper cups and such, from his car into the kitchen garbage cans. When Clemens refused, the driver reportedly pulled up to the front of the building, where Clemens now was delivering a bag of burgers and fries, or some such, to a waiting customer outside. Clemens told the police the guy exited his grey Ford and threatened him with a “silver object” that could have been a “pick or a screwdriver”. A witness said Clemens was attempting to defend himself against the man, who appeared to be jabbing a small weapon at him, she reported, before the driver bolted. But once police arrived at the scene, the suspect returned to offer his side of the story. Because the only bodily injury was a small scratch on the McDonalds employee, the driver — dirty dishes still presumably in tow — was allowed to leave. The McDonalds manager reportedly is collecting drive-thru video footage to hand over to a police detective.

At the Spin Cycle Washeteria at Abrams and Skillman, a suspect reportedly stabbed 24-year-old Jose Salazar, causing him serious injuries. The suspect reportedly is still at large. Reports are scarce at the moment.
