garage saleYou’ll find bargains and treasures galore this Saturday as the Lake Highlands Highlandettes host their annual garage sale. The team fundraiser features furniture, housewares, electronics, sporting goods and other cast offs from more than 50 LH families.

Special this year is Anna’s Boutique, an area reserved for “fabulous finds” and named for new Dette Captain Anna Starr. Anna, who’s been dancing competitively since she was seven year old dance and put on her first ballet shoes at three, is a member of the Performing Company at Next Step Dance. She recently returned from Las Vegas, where she competed at the Adrenaline Nationals, and she’s bringing back what she learned from prestigious choreographers to her Highlandette squad.

Dette officersAnna will be joined by new Dette Director Sarah Stoeber. Stoeber was featured in a June Advocate blog, and most recently led drill teams in Plano.

Also new to Lake Highlands will be Lindsay Early, the Highlandettes’ assistant director. Early will finish her Kinesiology degree at TCU in the fall, and she is a dancer for the Texas Legends NBA team. She is a former Kilgore Rangerette and served as Captain of her Keller Central High School drill team.

The Highlandette Garage Sale will be held Saturday, August 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the LHHS big gym. A pre-sale will be held Friday night from 9-10 p.m., with entry allowed for a $5 donation at the door.

To arrange for a pickup of your donated items, contact Dette mom Kitty Tonn at kittytonn@sbcglobal.net.
