They are located right along the White Rock Trail, so why not do something special and fun for the trail users? So for those of us who consider outdoor running in 100+ degree Texas fun, newcomer bar and grill Lake House will host a weekly social run/training run.
Aptly dubbed the Too Hot to Handle Social Run Series, the free event, 7 p.m. Wednesdays through July 10, wraps up with a happy hour featuring $1-off beer and selected cocktails as well as half-price appetizers. A similarly named race takes place July 14 at White Rock Lake.
Better yet, put on your running gear, throw a bucket of water over your body and mosey on up to the bar at about 8 p.m. No one will every know the difference between you and those who actually ran.
For the legit runners, Run On! store reps and New Balance reps will be on hand with giveaways.
Lake House is located at 7510 Northwest Highway.
