Renee Long with 2013 LHHS graduate Brittany Beasley

Even if the name doesn’t exactly ring a bell, you probably know Renee Long. Renee has served as Executive Assistant to Charles Bruner, Forest Meadow’s principal, for ten years. Her daughter, Katie Morgan, is one of those always-perky, always-smiling Highlandettes you’ve no doubt seen at the Boneyard or the Fourth of July parade. Her son, Will Morgan, is pretty much a household name in Lake Highlands. The Will-to-Win campaign was created in 2009 when Will was first diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Since then, Will continues to amaze with his fighting spirit and positive attitude, while mom just keeps plugging away, helping and inspiring everyone else.

Today it was announced that Renee has been promoted to the RISD’s purchasing department as Contract Administrator/Buyer. With Bruner’s move to Richardson High, Renee’s departure leaves the new principal free to bring or hire his own assistant.

If you’d like to congratulate or thank Renee, the reception Tuesday, June 4 is really for Mr. Bruner, but (as always) Renee will be faithfully by his side. The party is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the FMJH library.
