• Travel & Leisure doesn’t think much of pizza in Dallas. We’re not among the best 20 cities for pizza in the U.S. as outlined in the magazine’s March issue. It’s no so bad that we’re beaten by Chicago and New York, traditional pizza powerhouses, but San Antonio, which came in at No. 13? Or Orlando, at No. 20? Don’t they know we’re having a pizza renaissance here?
• Sigel’s will hold a Kermit Lynch wine tasting from 5-7 p.m. on April 3, at its Greenville Avenue store, featuring 11 of the importer’s French wines.
• Wine of the week: A to Z Chardonnay 2011 ($10). Unoaked white from Oregon with crisp, juicy green apple fruit, classic for this style of chardonnay; a little richness at the back, which makes up for the lack of oak; and an intensity that is quite refreshing. Available at Spec’s.
