crime-scene-response-unit-01A 20-year-old man over last weekend was found shot dead behind the Ice Training Center on Centennial, which is less than three miles outside of Lake Highlands. Though the property isn’t inside the neighborhood, it is home to the ice hockey team that includes Lake Highlands students.

According to a police report, at about 10 p.m. Sunday, witnesses called in a disturbance and gunfire. Responders found a male victim behind the rink. He appeared to have been shot at least one time and was dead when authorities arrived. Officers stopped a vehicle, near the vicinity of the crime, that matched a description provided by a witness. The driver of that car provided information that led to the detention of two other people believed to have knowledge or involvement in the shooting, police say. The detained individuals are associates of the victim, police report.
