Janna Gardner, founder and executive director of Healing Hands Ministries, was honored with a prestigious award by the Richardson chapter of Altrusa International Friday. Janna was named “Outstanding Woman of Today” in the Non-Profit category, nominated with 8 other accomplished women.

Attending the luncheon with Janna were Susan Cox, president of the HHM board, Brent Gardner, Janna’s supportive husband, Shirley and James Burroughs, Janna’s parents, and several folks who volunteer faithfully at the HHM clinic.

“Janna makes me a better person my just being around her,” said Susan Solomon after watching Janna collect her crystal statue. “I have never been prouder.”

Altrusa is an international non-profit organization which fosters leadership and service in local communities. Awards were also given for work in fields of education, corporate, government and small business, and younger women were nominated as Outstanding Women of Tomorrow.
