Early Thursday morning, a man was killed outside Sherlock’s Pub near Central and Walnut Hill.
Officers responded at 12:46 a.m. Thursday to a shooting-homicide at Sherlock’s Pub at 9100 N. Central, according to a police release from information-officer Melinda Guitierrez.
Witnesses say a black male brandishing a handgun walked up to three people who were hanging out in the parking lot and demanded their property.
The shooting victim reportedly tried to fight off the assailant but was shot and killed. Two other close witnesses to the shooting, a female and another male, were not injured.
Several news outlets today have reported that the patio was full of patrons who witnessed the crime.
The suspect fled the scene and is still at large. The official police report has not yet been published.
