Sir Colby with his art at the Lake Highlands North Recreation Center

Colby Jones worked at the Lake Highlands North Recreation Center for almost 20 years, but in retirement he’s really revealed his artistic chops.

You might remember him as the illustrator of the Lake Highlands-author-penned “Creating Grand Memories”.

At the request of Park Board member Joan Walne, Jones recently donated a painting to the rec center, where he spent so many days.

Jones, also known as Sir Colby since high school, keeps a blog, which contains some impressive examples of his artwork.

Side note, Jones also was on a state championship soccer team in the 60s and became a coach and referee  in his later years.

He sings on the church choir too, but “not loud enough to ruin the music”. Cute.
