A couple shot in front of their East Dallas home late Tuesday night or early Wednesday were owners of the Lake Highlands area Ethiopian restaurant, Desta.
Yayehyirad “Yared” Lemma and Yenenesh “Yenni” Desta were shot and killed on their front porch. Lemma’s mother was inside the house with the couple’s 18-month old, according to reports on the Dallas Morning News.
In one television report I heard the detectives say they were looking at robbery as a possible motive, but it seems that’s now been ruled out.
Today police are still searching for a suspect and a motive and the Ethiopian Community in northeast Dallas and Garland, where they attended church, is mourning a heavy loss.
