The Lake Highlands High School theatre department has been nominated in four categories for the prestigious Dallas Summer Musicals High School Musical Theatre Awards. DSM president and managing director Michael Jenkins created the awards this year to recognize local talent and encourage Dallas area high school students to continue studying, performing and enjoying musical theatre.

LHHS’ production of 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee was nominated for Best Musical Direction, Best Scene Design and Best Lighting Design, and Doug Keffer was nominated Best Actor for his role as William Barfee. Ten schools were named in most of 15 categories.
