Walk & Wag for Wyatt
Benefitting Lake Highlands 4-year-old Wyatt Moore and the 401Project, the event is Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Exall Park and Recreation Center, 1355 Adair between Live Oak and Bryan. All proceeds benefit the MECP2 duplication research fund for a specific study geared toward finding a cure for this rare form of Downs syndrome. The event includes a 1- to 3-mile walk, a pet parade, games, celebrity autographs, food, drinks, popcorn, cotton candy, a bounce house and more. Visit 401project.com for information.
Grief and Loss Center
A new program for children, teens and families who have experienced the death of someone special in their lives begins this September, and organizers need greeters, kitchen help, computer and office help, group facilitators, artsy people and more to make it happen. For those interested in working in a classroom, training is required and set for Friday, April 20, 6:30-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The center is housed at Wilshire Baptist Church, 4316 Abrams. WE Shop Spring Market
Your spring shopping can benefit the Wallace Elementary PTA.
