Tickets are now on sale for this year’s musical theater production at Lake Highlands High School, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” The Wildcats have recruited an enormous cast and crew (about 40 kids onstage with many more helping out with props, sets, lighting and costumes), and they’ve got a particularly talented group to pull off this Tony-winning musical comedy.

The show follows six quirky high school kids as they compete in the Putnam Valley Middle School spelling bee, with hilarious results and opportunities for the audience to get involved.

Performances, held in the LHHS auditorium, are Jan. 19-21, Thursday-Saturday at 7pm and 2pm Saturday. Tickets are $13 for reserved seating, $10 for general admission and $5 for students. Tickets may be purchased online here or at the door.

Faced with an embarrassment of riches in the talent department, LHHS Theatre Director Beauen Bogner opted to “double cast” most of the leading roles, so the Thursday night/Saturday night leads are different than the Friday night/Saturday matinee leads. If you are hoping to catch your favorite Wildcat rising star, call them and see when they go on. Better yet, see it twice and catch them all!
