With 74% of the vote, the Richardson ISD calendar option with a longer winter break won out over the choice providing for an earlier release date for summer. The student academic calendar for 2012-2013 was approved Monday by RISD trustee vote. More than 3,800 participants responded to the survey.

First semester exams will be once again be administered before winter break (let’s hope we never go back to the January exams of 2009 and 2010). The last day of school will be June 6, 2013, with graduation ceremonies taking place on June 9 and 10. (Take it from this mom of four LHHS grads, you 2013 moms: your days of senior teas and all-night parties will be here before you can say Baccalaureate.)
