Police say the 16-year old BMW driver was Colin Taylor Stone, a student at Cistercian Preparatory School in Irving.
Stone reportedly was driving upwards of 100 miles per hour on Northwest Highway near the Half Price Books at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday when he lost control, crossed the median and hit four other cars.
A few of those drivers and passengers were injured but all are expected to live.
Police are seeking the driver of another car that might have been racing Stone.
Police at a press conference today say the teens were leaving swim practice at Knights of Columbus at Northwest and Ferndale; they accelerated to 100 mph and more near Abrams and Northwest before the crash about a mile down the road.
