Brynn Thayer played Andy Griffith's daughter on Matlock, but first she worked as a teacher at Stults Road Elementary in LH.

Actress Brynn Thayer, who starred on TV’s Matlock and, before that, taught at LH’s Stults Road Elementary, will be the keynote speaker at Wednesday’s Each Moment Matters luncheon benefiting Faith Presbyterian Hospice. Thayer, a Dallas native and Hillcrest High School grad, will share stories of her late father and her family’s experience with Faith Presbyterian Hospice as he faced the end of his life in 2010.

Thayer wasn’t quite sure what hospice was, she said in a live interview on Good Morning Texas yesterday, before she and her mom needed help as they cared for her dad at such an overwhelming time. Looking back, she’s not sure how they could have gotten through it without them.

The luncheon Wednesday from noon to 1pm at the Hilton Anatole is sold out, but you can get more info on the event here and on the support Faith Presbyterian Hospice provides to patients and families here.
