The choir students at Lake Highlands High School have been invited to compete in Florida this spring at Orlando’s Festival Disney Contest, and choir director Michael O’Hern tells me his kids are pumped.

“Many of the kids have never been on a plane before, much less been to Disneyworld,” he told me. “They have been looking forward to it.”

All of the performers are expected to participate in fundraising to help defray expenses, but some simply will not be able to make the trip without financial help. From now until September 25, they’re selling goodies ready to go from your freezer to your oven to your table to your happy family: cookie dough, cheesecakes, pies, rolls, cobblers, braided breads, pizzas and Auntie Anne’s pretzels. (The mouth-watering list is too long to detail here, but I recommend the Extreme Turtle Cheesecake, Pumpkin Roll and French Silk Pies. Yum.)

To place an order, contact your favorite talented singer or email Elise Murdock here. To sponsor a child, email Michael O’Hern here.
