Look in the August Advocate, which arrives this week, for our interview with C.C. Young’s new president Kent Shields, who talks to us about the new mid-rise project, The Overlook, which opens to its residents Wed. July 27.
Shields was around years ago when the $50 million project was proposed, and he recalls that some White Rock area homeowners weren’t thrilled about the proposed lakeside building.
We got to go inside, and the views are pretty great. According to the people at C.C. Young, construction also boosted the job market.
“Construction on the new residential living facility began in January 2010 and brought numerous new construction jobs to the East Dallas area. The Overlook also added 13 new full time employees for C. C. Young,” a press release yesterday states.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is slated for 8:30 a.m. opening day.
