Lindsay Toler and friends show off their new rain boots, courtesy of Samuel Bistrian and the Roma boot company.

We first shared Samuel Bistrian’s story last December. He’s the Dallas man who founded Roma boot company and promised to give away a pair for every order received. LH’s Mary Browder was singing his praises, because he yearned to return to Romania, where he grew up, to help the children living in desperate poverty there.

Last weekend, Samuel enlisted the aid of LHHS 2005 grad (and my daughter) Lindsay Toler, working in nearby Moldova as a Peace Corps volunteer, to distribute the much-needed footwear to the village children. You can read Lindsay’s account, see her photos and view her video of the day here.
