It’s going to get longer, and we’ll probably be in top 10 territory by the end of the week. Sunday was the ninth day in a row we made 100, and if most of the forecasts hold true — and there doesn’t seem to be any reason why they won’t — we’ll be at 16 consecutive 100-degree days.
Which will put this summer at No. 10 on the list for consecutive days, and leave us just four days from fifth on the list, at 20. And if that isn’t fun enough, consider that we also have a chance to enter the record book for most 100-degree days in a month. All we have to do is get through the next two weeks, and we’ll add that to this summer’s heat records.
