We’ve got ourselves a mayoral runoff, and today on the podcast we debate whether money mattered in last weekend’s election — and whether it will matter in the upcoming runoff. Also, do safety and potholes matter more to us than business and development, and will that affect how we vote?

Speaking of business, the next mayor may want to address the issue of government red tape that would declare the parking lot on the southeast corner of Walnut Hill-Audelia inadequate to handle an expansion of the popular new restaurant Atomic Pie. Rumor has it that other restaurants are eyeing that corner, and we want to encourage mom-and-pop upstarts in Lake Highlands — despite the claims of certain Lakewood neighbors that we’re more interested in luring chains.
