It was close, but Lake Highlands High softball remains unbeaten, 19-0, after back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday.
The Lady Wildcats cruised on Friday, Senior Night, against last place Sunset High 11-1 to move to 18-0 on the season. Erin Brennan, Cynthia Ibarra and Andrea Beard each posted a double on the night as Lake Highlands spread 11 runs over eight hits.
On Saturday, LHHS and Berkner High met at Berkner, and the third place Lady Rams were looking to move into a tie with Skyline with a win. However, LHHS held its ground in its closest game of the season, and pulled out a 2-0 win to keep the perfect streak alive.
The Lady Wildcats will head to second place Skyline this Friday.
