Lake Highlands High School 2008 grad Lyndsey Jones has just released her first CD, “What A Day,” with the strong jazz and pop vocals that have made her a crowd-pleaser at Soho Food and Jazz and other venues around town. The CD incorporates lots of talent from Lyndsey’s LHHS classmates, including graphic design from Ryan Paige Rommel, Wildcat Wrangler from the Class of 2008, and cover photography by Robin Davis, Espree and Wrangler from the Class of 2007. Lyndsey composed the title song “What A Day,” with help from Jacob Andrews, who wrote the lyrics and quarterbacked the Wildcat football team in 2007. She handles all vocals and keyboards and is accompanied by her dad, Jeff, who plays guitar on the CD and for Wes Niles and the Texas Skeeters.
If you’d like to hear Lyndsey’s music, you can download “What A Day” on iTunes, CD Baby and DigStation. She hopes you’ll log back onto iTunes afterward to give it favorable reviews.
Of course, if you’re Old School like me, you can just show up this Saturday at Enchilada’s on Greenville Avenue to hear her singing in person with the Skeeters. The music begins on the patio at 8 pm and continues until midnight, and they’ll have hard-copy CDs available for purchase. When Lyndsey is accepting her first Grammy, we can all say, “we knew her when.”
