According to a release from the district, the Richardson ISD Used Book Fair, held last month, raised $30,918 for the JJ Pearce Scholarship Fund, which supports all four RISD high schools.
Organized by the Council of PTAs, the four-day sale collected more than 62,000 used books with 250 volunteers of of whom were National Honor Society students and community youth organizations.
Left over books will be donated to Girl Scout troops, Dallas Can Do Better and Green is Good.
