Lake Highlands High’s Trey Bingham poured in 31 points Tuesday, two shy of his output from Friday against Richardson. Senior Taylor Stell scored 22 points for Lake Highlands.
But the two leading scorers giving their best effort was simply not enough to overcome one of the best teams in the state as LHHS lost to Garland Lakeview Centennial High Tuesday night at Richardson Pearce High 98-75.
Six Patriots players scored in double-digits, spreading the ball around and getting points from everywhere. Chris Jones led the way with 23 points with Jamarlas Demas and Toddrick Gotcher scoring 15 a piece.
The Wildcats were playing it close at the end of the first quarter trailing by only two points, but Lakeview outscored LHHS by 21 points in the second quarter, taking a 57-34 lead into halftime.
Lake Highlands was unable to recover and put a lop-sided streak together to make-up for the big second quarter.
The Wildcats finish the season 19-14 overall.
