Highlandettes welcome climbers to the start line
The Lake Highlands High School Highlandettes participated in the Big D Climb in January, a footrace fundraiser involving running up the 52 flights of stairs at Fountain Place in downtown Dallas. Teams and individuals from around the metroplex, including first responders racing in full disaster gear, were cheered by the always-spirited Dettes. Their motivating smiles were positioned at various points along the route to encourage all 724 climbers to finish the race. Funds raised went to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Dallas to fight blood cancers.

Dettes enthusiastically cheered each person supporting the cause
Next up for the Dettes is their February competition in Austin and their Dancing with the Dettes children’s clinic March 5. After that, they’ll delight home audiences with their annual spring show April 15 and 16 in the LHHS auditorium. For more on the Dettes, email Director Lauren Turnbull or stay tuned here on the blog.
