When Good2Go Tacos left Green Spot to prepare for a new location, I thought that was the end of fabulous tacos at the Green Spot (702 N. Buckner Blvd — also the venue for White Rock Local Market). But the Green Spot Cafe is open for business, and still serving delicious and eclectic tacos.
When my daughter and I stopped in for an afternoon coffee pick-me-up (they have great coffee, in case you haven’t tried it) we were lucky enough to arrive just before the cafe’s closing time (3:00 p.m.) and so we sampled the first item on their menu – a taco filled with chocolate-ancho chili smoked brisket and sweet citrus salsa. I promise, it is not only as good as it sounds, it is even better. Worth driving out of your way for, if need be.
The Cafe also offers sandwiches made with bread from Empire Bakery. Check out their menu at http://www.greenspotmarket.com/green_spot_cafe_menu.
Green Spot Cafe is open everyday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., another improvement from the old days when I always seemed to be stopping for Good2Go on one of their days off (I just couldn’t keep that schedule straight). You can also get breakfast tacos at Green Spot, pre-wrapped at the front counter, and I also spotted a new espresso machine, which was not yet in service. But espresso and lattes are coming to the Green Spot once the machine is hooked up.
