Exchange Club members welcomed community members for last year's Salute the Troops care package boxing party

If Veteran’s Day events today have you in the mood to support our military, the Lake Highlands Exchange Club can help you channel that goodwill into a project that will touch an LH serviceman or woman directly.

With the help of the LH Military Moms and several LHHS student groups, the Exchange Club will hold its annual “Salute the Troops” care package assembly party Saturday, November 27th from 9-11 am at Knights of Columbus Hall. You can bring with you (or drop off if you can’t stay) items which will be divided into care packages and mailed to troops around the globe. They anticipate sending more than 200 boxes stuffed with everything from DVDs to deodorant, batteries to board games, stationery to scented candles, foot powder to Febreze (a complete list is available here).

If Saturday doesn’t work, you can deliver items anytime until Nov. 23rd at My Office, The Store in Lake Highlands, Eat the World and LH Media Center. You can opt to bring a check instead, or you can email Greg Duval to arrange a donation.
