Lake Highlands High School is hosting UT Night in the LHHS auditorium this evening from 6:30-8 pm in hopes of shedding light on the complicated application and admissions process to the University of Texas. On hand will be UT Admissions Counselor Demetra Durham, who graduated from LHHS in 2000.

The informational event, hosted by LHHS’ College and Career Center, is open to current graduating seniors and their parents from all four RISD high schools. Despite the state legislature’s attempts to simplify and streamline the process by guaranteeing acceptance to students who graduate in the top 9% of their class, some find the websites, deadlines and requirements clear as mud. Here’s your chance to talk to a real, live person.

And chances are good that, if you can master the college admissions process, you are ready to grapple with your next challenge: financial aid.
