Lake Highlands Elementary is seeking neighborhood veterans to participate in a Veterans Day Celebration they are planning for Thursday, November 11th. Students and staff will be raising a flag that flew over American servicemen in Iraq this summer as they fought in the global war on terrorism.

The flag raising event will begin at 8:30 am, with an Appreciation Coffee for veterans and their families immediately following in the school library. Veterans are encouraged to RSVP by emailing Angel Cochran or by calling the school office at 469-593-2100.

She has an MBA from SMU and is the proud recipient of the Exchange Club of LH's Unsung Hero Award and Councilman McGough's Blake Anderson Public Service Award. She has moderated candidate debates for Dallas Mayor, Dallas City Council and RISD Trustee races and taught seminars on garnering publicity for nonprofits. She completed training with Dallas Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation and Inside RISD, and she's a sustaining member of LH Women's League.
