I once referred to cyclists as “bikers” on this blog, and it really irked a certain cyclist/reader who left some snippy commentary; but what do I know? I’m just a dumb runner (who is secretly very envious of you cyclists and your fancy bikes). Anyhoo, think of this weekend’s Two White Dogs Duathlon as a symbol of peace between runners and cyclists at White Rock Lake. Or you could just opt to skip the biking and run the 5k — your choice. The events begin at the Bath House Cultural Center at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, August 2. More about prices and registration on active.com.
More weekend to-dos:
Catch live local music Saturday at O’Rileys. The lineup: 7 p.m. Langdon Jones, 8 p.m. Chin’s Mojo, 9 p.m. Six Bullet Roulette, 10 p.m. Ducado Vega and Bloodrich, and at 11 p.m. Shanty Night.
Or, beginning Sunday and all Auguast long, slap on the sunscreen and head out to the Arboretum’s Dollar Days.
