Quite honestly, I had to reach to find events happening this weekend in Lake Highlands — might I suggest a good movie? Indoors. Where it’s not sunny and 105 degrees. I saw The Kids are All Right last weekend. Provided you can handle a couple of onscreen awkward sexual situations, the movie is about the best I’ve seen in a long time. Maybe I’ll write more about it later, but for now, here are a few other things to do this weekend:
The White Rock Local Market is Saturday outside Green Spot on Buckner.
The Festival of Independent Theaters continues at the Bath House Cultural Center all weekend long.
And, going with my stay-inside theme, there’s a film festival at the Angelika. (“Kids are All Right” is at Magnolia only).
