Dallas will soon get its second Another Broken Egg Café, set to open in September in Old Town. The breakfast & lunch chain has an existing location in Casa Linda which opened in 2009 and attracts an eclectic crowd, from retirees to ladies’ groups to families to White Rock Lake cyclists. The new location on Greenville Avenue near Southwestern is the site of the former Two Rows Restaurant and Brewery and is likely to draw business people and folks on their way to work.

Omelettes are their specialty, and I like the Hey Ricky!, their Spanish omelette with chorizo, green chiles & salsa which I assume is a nod to Ricky Ricardo and not LH’s most famous Ricky – Harvard-bound quarterback Ricky Zorn. Others in my group liked the Bacado, which blends bacon and avocado, or the Farm Fresh with broccoli, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes & cheese. They also serve burgers, salads, sandwiches and a variety of other items.

Another Broken Egg opens at 7 am 7 days a week, but closes by 2 or 3 pm, depending on the location and the day. Franchisee Chris Howard hopes to open two more Dallas locations soon.
