Mattito's adds a new location across from Medical City

Construction crews have carved out the 1,200-square-foot patio space at the new Mattito’s near Medical City, and as they get ready to pour concrete, I can already feel my mouth beginning to water. There’s a tasty Tex-Mex botanas platter and frozen margarita calling my name.

For the past few weeks, painters have been adding bright colors to the exterior of the former Black-Eyed Pea at 7778 Forest Lane while other crews renovate the inside and prepare to build the outdoor seating area. The restaurant, which sits between Dickey’s and Scholtzsky’s expects to open September 1.

In the nearby strip shopping center, a “Which Wich Coming Soon” sign went up between Chipotle and Office Depot. No work has begun on the smallish space, but stay tuned to the blog for more details. The popular sandwich chain with a location at NorthPark Mall should make the workers at Medical City and nearby office buildings very happy.
