Recent LH graduate Curran Kelley was one of our incredible sports blog interns this spring. Curran was responsible for staying on top of a variety of LH sports, including the one he competed in – swimming. Among his jobs was producing Q&A’s of LH athletes, so for the last one we thought we’d turn the tables on him.

Q: Where are you headed to college? What are you going to study? Yada, yada, yada…

A: I’m headed to St. Edward’s to study Digital Media Management (Entertainment Business). I’m not sure where I’ll end up, but sports business is one area I’m looking at.

Q: What was your favorite part about interning for the Advocate?

A: I got to meet a lot of cool athletes at Lake Highlands that can sometimes be overlooked because they aren’t part of the “big” sports.

Q: Did you learn anything?

A: Yeah, how much farther I have to go as a writer! But really, learning the sports coverage process is something that I had wanted to do and I got to do it.

Q: What was your favorite LH sports moment of 2009-10?

A: Even though we lost, the John Tyler [football] game was the most energized I have ever seen a crowd at LH since I can remember. It was really cool to see The Boneyard full and fired up for the game.

Q: Do you see yourself moving back to Lake Highlands some day?

A: I think I want to get out and see the rest of the world right now, but when settling down comes around in however long, it will be on the list for sure.
