A couple of moths ago, we told you about the guys from California who took over a crime-infested Lake Highlands apartment complex and turned it into a family friendly community complete with a learning center and discounted rent for the teachers who volunteer there. Most of the Lake Highlands folks I’ve talked to agree we need more of what they have brought to the neighborhood.
Learning Links Centers is now in need of tutors at The Madeline, 9855 Shadow Way. Tutors must be accredited teachers and preferably live on site (for a “heavily discounted” rent). They teach two days per week at 2-and-a-half hours each day and they are invited to bring in along assistants — volunteers, or college or high school students.
