Every year when I watch the procession at the Exchange Club Lake Highlands Fourth of July parade, I think "Hmm … I’d like to have a parade float". I imagine waving and graciously acknowledging the cheers of the crowd.
But, sadly, someone who procrastinates as much as me has no hope of fashioning a fabulous parade float. For those capable of planning ahead, however, now is the time to start thinking about the hood’s favorite parade and July 4th party (we named building a float for this event on our Bucket List, after all). The Exchange Club needs lots of volunteers to help make this thing happen each year—if you can help, e-mail adam_meierhofer@yahoo.com.
At the very least, say organizers, you can start spreading the word and planning your float.
